WORLD CUP SKEDBALL: Day 8

As we move into the second week of the 2014 World Cup, a few changes to the daily chart.  The most recent match ratings are now at the top of the chart in bold.  The first number for each recent match is the total viewer ranking out of 23 matches to date.  The ranking section now concentrates on the top 10 matches to date, followed by the network averages section, and a new section with daypart averages.

Yesterday’s 11:30 am match between Colombia and Ivory Coast just missed being the lowest-rated match so far (ranking 22nd of 23 matches to date).  The least-watch match (at #23) remains Belgium vs Algeria, on Tuesday (June 17) also on ESPN at 11:30 am.  In contrast, the 2:30 and 5:30 pm matches yesterday were much more solid, with around 3.1 million viewers each and just below the top 10 at #14 and #13, respectively.  Versus the daypart averages below, the 11:30 am match yesterday was below even that time period’s diminished expectations, while 2:30 pm yesterday was a shade below average for that time and the 5:30 pm match was exactly in line with that time period norm.

If you are looking for an earlier match not listed in today’s Top 10, please visit earlier versions of WORLD CUP SKEDBALL.  And at the end of the Group Stage round, we will publish the entire ranking of matches.
