WORLD CUP SKEDBALL: Complete Round of 16 Ratings (Updated with ABC)

Ratings are now complete for the Round of 16, the eight matches that start the Knockout Stage, as the Saturday June 28 ratings for ABC have sauntered in.  Two solid matches on that Saturday, ranking #7 and #8 overall (out of 56 matches to date this World Cup) at 5.7 and 5.3 million viewers 2+ each.  The adult 18-49 and men 18-49 ratings on ABC Saturday were right around the average for the eight Round of 16 matches (bolded in the table below), but the men 18-34 ratings (right around 2.8 for each Saturday) were significantly below the 3.02 average rating for the Round of 16 and below the ESPN performance in comparable time periods on Sunday.  It’s like some young men just couldn’t bring themselves to watch ABC, or had never heard of the channel.
