WEEKEND STUDIO ESTIMATES January 11-13

Based on Friday’s and Saturday’s grosses, Weekend #2 of 2013 is on pace for $122 million, a touch lower than it appeared yesterday but still up slightly from the same weekend the last few years.  Zero Dark Thirty’s first wide weekend is now looking like $24 million, a few million dollars lower than yesterday’s forecast but now in line with the ShowbuzzDaily forecast earlier this week.  A Haunted House is gaining steam (a nice bump from $6.8 million Friday to $7.5 million Saturday).  While Gangster Squad is moving in the opposite direction: the dreaded drop in box office from Friday ($6.7 million) to Saturday ($6.2 million).
