THE SKED’S THURSDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 7/12/12

Big Brother returns, to limited viewer excitement.

CBS:  The network won the night with the premiere of BIG BROTHER, which was down 0.2 from last year’s debut at 2.6.  Last night’s score was actually lower than the rerun of THE BIG BANG THEORY (2.8) that preceded the premiere.

ABC:  DUETS stumbled toward next week’s finale with a series-low matching 1.0.  The Big Brother competition didn’t do much to harm WIPEOUT, down only 0.1 to 1.7.  ROOKIE BLUE won the night’s final hour with a steady 1.3.

FOX:  TAKE ME OUT held even at 1.2, but the finale of THE CHOICE was smashed by Big Brother, falling 0.4 to 1.2.

NBC:  Scientology may not have been to Katie Holmes’ taste, but it did wonders for ROCK CENTER, which aired a report on the story and rose to a 1.2, a great number for that show.  The night’s best idiot statistic is that SAVING HOPE “rose 25%”… which means it went from a 0.4 to a still-atrocious 0.5.

CWVAMPIRE DIARIES reruns at 0.4/0.3.

Summer Fridays continue to be death valley for the networks, with 20/20 and DATELINE the only new programming on the air.  HBO airs the season finale of THE RICKY GERVAIS SHOW.
