THE SKED’S NETWORK SCORECARD – 9/17/13

FOX continued to reap some benefit from its early premiere week.

FOX:  The premiere of DADS had a 2.1, better than last season’s Raising Hope debut (1.7), but facing atypically weak competition on the other networks.  BROOKLYN NINE-NINE looked more promising with a 2.5.  At 9PM, NEW GIRL was strong at 2.9, a tick better than last season’s premiere, although the same caveat about off-season competition applies.  Even that couldn’t help THE MINDY PROJECT, which managed just a 1.9 at 9:30PM, not at all the way FOX wanted the season to begin.

NBC;  After a dismal 1.1 for MILLION SECOND QUIZ, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT was at 2.4 as it heads to the season finale.

ABC:  The network tried to set the stage for next week’s premiere of Agents of SHIELD with a run of IRON MAN 2 (which has already aired on cable) and had a 1.2 for the night.

CBS:  Reruns, topped by a 1.3 for NCIS.

CW:  WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY was even at 0.8, and CAPTURE was up slightly to 0.5.

A busy unscripted night tonight, as CBS launches the new season of SURVIVOR and ends the summer’s BIG BROTHER, NBC has the finale of AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, and FOX desperately hopes THE X FACTOR doesn’t slip any more from last week’s ugly season debut.
