A night, sadly, for news shows.
NBC: We don’t know at this time what the ratings have been for the 24-hour cable news networks that have been covering the Aurora shootings non-stop since Thursday night. Friday evening, the broadcast networks joined the coverage, and NBC devoted 2 primetime hours of DATELINE to the story, with about a 1.2 rating following low-rated sitcom reruns.
ABC: 20/20‘s coverage was about even with NBC’s, with about a 1.3 following a SHARK TANK rerun.
CBS: The network’s news coverage ran during the lower-rated 8PM hour, getting around a 1.0. 2 hours of procedural reruns followed at 0.7.
FOX: Reruns at 0.5/0.6.
CW: Reruns at 0.3.
Barring any news developments, tonight is scheduled to be mostly reruns, aside from a burned-off NYC 22 on CBS, and a pre-Olympics special on NBC. On Sunday, ABC will air the season finale of THE BACHELORETTE, and FOX has the TEEN CHOICE AWARDS.
