THE SKED: “True Blood” Premiere A Bit Drained

Posted June 17, 2013 by Mitch Salem

The Season 6 premiere of HBO’s TRUE BLOOD wasn’t quite as hearty as last year’s launch, with 4.5M total viewers for the initial broadcast (demo details aren’t available yet, although it should be around a 2.5 in 18-49s), compared to 5.2M last season, plus another 1.1M viewers for the 11PM rebroadcast.  That’s below last [...]

ABCFamily had a big night on Tuesday with the Season 4 premiere of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, which had a 1.3 rating in 18-49s and 2.9M viewers, with even bigger numbers in the network’s target demos (4.1 in Females 12-34, 6.6 in Female Teens, 3.2 in Women 18-34 and 2.1 in Women 18-49).  The target [...]

THE SKED: Fri-Mon Cable Ratings

Posted June 11, 2013 by Mitch Salem

FRIDAY STARZ:  The season finale of DA VINCI’S DEMONS didn’t suggest much enthusiasm for Season 2, with a 0.1 rating in the 18-49 demo and less than 400K total viewers on its initial airing.  It didn’t earn a particularly young audience, either, with about 60% of its viewers over 50. SYFY:  CONTINUUM had an [...]

THE SKED: TNT Launches “King & Maxwell” Fairly Well

Posted June 11, 2013 by Mitch Salem

Last night’s premiere telecast of KING & MAXWELL gave TNT a decent 0.6-0.7 rating in the 18-49 demo and 3.5M total viewers, an old-skewing result (only around one-quarter of total viewers were under 50) that’s consistent with its lead-in MAJOR CRIMES, albeit losing about 30% of that show’s numbers.  If King can hold there, [...]

THE SKED: Preliminary Cable Ratings for “Game Of Thrones” and “Falling Skies”

Posted June 10, 2013 by Mitch Salem

Remember all those people who said they’d never watch GAME OF THRONES or for that matter HBO again after the Red Wedding?  Well, they didn’t go anywhere.  Last night’s Season 3 finale had a viewership of 5.4M people, even higher than the 5.2M who tuned in for the Stark/Frey nuptials.  It was also a [...]

THE SKED: A Mixed Night For USA

Posted June 7, 2013 by Mitch Salem

Like the San Antonio Spurs, USA Network provided an example last night of aging veterans showing up some ultra-hyped newcomers.  BURN NOTICE, beginning its 7th and final season, held almost all of last season’s premiere audience in 18-49s and managed to increase its older-skewing total audience.  (Note:  last season’s premiere also aired against an [...]
