SHOWBUZZDAILY WEDNESDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 4.22.2015

It’s not a good sign when a new series’ episode rates almost the same as the reruns that follow it.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.

Demo Profile 2015 WED.22 Apr

NBC:  THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA’s 1.0, while up 0.1 from its last new episode, was also up just 0.1 from the night’s SVU and CHICAGO PD reruns.

ABC:  BLACK-ISH was up 0.2 from its last original to 2.1, but that was because it last aired after a MODERN FAMILY rerun.  This week, the rest of the all-new sitcom line-up was downbeat:  THE MIDDLE fell 0.2 to 1.8, THE GOLDBERGS lost 0.1 to 2.1, MODERN FAMILY dropped 0.1 to 2.9.  NASHVILLE, though, gained 0.1 to 1.3.

CBS:  SURVIVOR gained 0.1 to 2.3, but CRIMINAL MINDS was down 0.1 to 1.9.  CSI: CYBER, back in its Wednesday berth, was steady with last week’s 1.5.

FOX:  AMERICAN IDOL was up 0.1 to 1.5.

CW:  ARROW was steady at 0.9, and SUPERNATURAL gained 0.1 to 0.7.

All the networks are new tonight, apart from extra rerun episodes of THE BLACKLIST and THE BIG BANG THEORY.  ABC has been heavily promoting tonight’s GREY’S ANATOMY as a game-changer, so we’ll see if that pays off in ratings.  Cable features the season finale of History’s VIKINGS.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
