UPDATED: THE SKED CABLE/NETWORK SCORECARD – 3/12/14

AFTERNOON UPDATE:  There was no comfort for FOX in the final numbers, which left AMERICAN IDOL at 2.4, and even worse, left SURVIVOR at 2.5, giving the 14-year old reality show veteran its first win over IDOL.  SUBURGATORY, however, eased its own pain by rising 0.2 to 1.6, reversing most of the drop from last week.  THE MIDDLE and MODERN FAMILY both climbed 0.1.  On CW, the ARROW repeat lost 0.1.

WEDNESDAY CABLE:  Underscoring the value of its new 3-year CBS renewal, reruns of THE BIG BANG THEORY made up the top 3 shows on cable last night (followed by 2 FAMILY GUY reruns).  WORKAHOLICS (Comedy) was the highest rated original show at 0.9, steady with last week.  Without a DUCK DYNASTY lead-in, WAHLBURGERS (A&E) toppled by 0.5 to 0.8.  ROBOT CHICKEN (Adult Swim) dropped 0.2 to 0.7.  and REAL WORLD (MTV) slipped 0.1 to 0.8.  There doesn’t seem to be much nostalgia about the imminent passing of PSYCH (USA), as it dropped 0.1 to 0.5.  Fans of THE AMERICANS (FX) should probably enjoy the current season as though it may be the last, because it may well be–the show fell 0.2 to 0.4, and has now lost almost half its season premiere rating in just 2 weeks.

American Idol still hasn’t reached bottom.

FOX:  AMERICAN IDOL fell 0.3 from last week to 2.4.  Last week’s Thursday installment was down 0.5 from Wednesday’s, which would potentially put tonight’s episode below the dreaded 2.0 line, but FOX is hoping to forestall that with its new change in schedule, pushing the Thursday Idol to 9PM, with Hell’s Kitchen taking over its 8PM slot.

CBS:  As of now, SURVIVOR is ahead of Idol for the first time ever, up 0.1 to 2.5.  However, CBS had local preemptions for college basketball in several markets, so we won’t know until this afternoon if that number will stand up.  CRIMINAL MINDS was down 0.3 to 2.3, but CSI rose 0.3 to 2.0.

ABC:  The night’s bubble shows didn’t do themselves any good, as SUBURGATORY dropped 0.3 to tie its series low 1.4, MIXOLOGY fell 0.2 to a new low 1.5, and NASHVILLE slipped 0.1 to 1.4.  THE MIDDLE was steady at 1.9, and MODERN FAMILY lost 0.1 to 3.3.

NBC:  REVOLUTION held at its series low 1.3, SVU remained at 1.6, and CHICAGO PD climbed 0.1 to 1.6.

CW:  Reruns at 0.4/0.2.

All the networks are new tonight, with the FOX changes noted above.  On cable, the Week 2 ratings for SIRENS on USA will be particularly important.
