SHOWBUZZDAILY WEDNESDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 9.23.2020

 

We may be seeing the new upper limits of non-sports primetime broadcast ratings.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary live+same day key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.

ABC:  A run of the original GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY was at 0.4, followed by a rerun of THE GOLDBERGS at 0.2.

CBS:  The line-up returned from a week off, with BIG BROTHER steady at 1.1, LOVE ISLAND up 0.2 to 0.6, and 48 HOURS: SUSPICION steady at 0.4.

NBC:  After a clip show at 0.6, the season finale of AMERICA’S GOT TALENT was at 0.8, down a distressing 0.7 from the September 2019 finale, and down 0.4 from the February 2020 finale.

FOX:  The season premiere of THE MASKED SINGER was at 1.4, down 0.6 from the show’s February timeslot premiere, and down 0.9 from the May finale.  I CAN SEE YOUR VOICE held its lead-in well, premiering at 1.1.

CW:  THE 100 dropped 0.1 to 0.1, and the Season 1 finale of CORONER (which will soon be followed by the Canadian Season 2) held at 0.1.

Tonight, CBS starts running episodes of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, originally produced for the All Access streaming platform, on the broadcast network.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 live+same day ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.

Note: The fast affiliate-based ratings below measure what aired on network affiliates in 210 U.S. markets from 8-11 pm Eastern & Pacific or 7-10 pm Central & Mountain. The numbers are some combination of the network schedule and any pre-emptions (such as local news or weather coverage). Accurate program ratings will be available this afternoon with the broadcast finals.
