The Sked: Wednesday Network Scorecard 1.2.2019

2019 may have its first big hit.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary live+same day key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.

FOX:  The network’s marketing campaign paid off for THE MASKED SINGER, which premiered to an impressive 2.9.  It was preceded by the season premiere of 24 HOURS TO HELL & BACK, at a new series high 1.2, which was up 0.2 from its August 2018 finale.

CBS:  After 1.0/0.9 sitcom reruns, the night’s dramas returned from holiday break with SEAL TEAM down 0.1 to 0.9, and CRIMINAL MINDS down 0.1 to 0.7.

ABC:  Reruns at 0.4-0.8.

NBC:  Reruns at 0.5-0.6.

CW:  Reruns at 0.2/0.1.

NBC will hope to duplicate FOX’s feat tonight with the premiere of its much-hyped THE TITAN GAMES, hosted by Dwayne Johnson, which will be followed by an off-night season premiere for THE BLACKLIST.  Fox has the premiere of the final season of GOTHAM, and the timeslot premiere of THE ORVILLE.  ABC airs a THE LAST DAYS OF JOHN F. KENNEDY JR special.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 live+same day ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.

CABLE RATINGS: Come back this afternoon for detailed demographic ratings for top cable programs from this day.
