AFTERNOON UPDATE:  THE VOICE and AGENTS OF SHIELD avoided lows with 0.1 upward adjustments.

TUESDAY CABLE:  NBA PLAYOFF games on TNT led the night at 1.7/1.1.  THE DEADLIEST CATCH (Discovery) had a strong 1.5 season premiere, up 0.3 from last year’s season finale, although down 0.1 from the 2013 season premiere (a lead-in special THE BAIT was at 0.9).  THE GAME (BET) was down 0.2 to 1.0.  FARGO (FX) dropped 0.2 with its 2d episode to 0.6., and also fell 20% in total viewers to 2M.  On Comedy Central, TOSH.0 and INSIDE AMY SCHUMER were at 0.9/0.6, which was down 0.1 for SCHUMER.  INK MASTER (Spike) held at 0.8, and on TLC, 19 KIDS AND COUNTING and THE LITTLE COUPLE changed places to 0.8/0.7.  AWKWARD. (MTV) fell 0.2 from last week’s season premiere to 0.6, and it was followed by 0.5 for the series premiere of FAKING IT.

There wasn’t much going on in the network world on Tuesday, a night heavy with reruns.

Daily Comp 3way 2014 Tue Apr 22

NBC:  THE VOICE was by far the highest-rated show of the night, but it also continued to sink, down 0.3 to 2.7 despite airing against a rerun on CBS.  That was its lowest regularly-scheduled episode ever, and down 1/3 from last year’s 4.1 in the parallel week.  The brightest spot of the night may have been ABOUT A BOY, which climbed 0.1 to 1.9 (although The Voice sometimes takes 0.1 of whatever follows it when final numbers are released in the afternoon).  GROWING UP FISHER was steady at 1.5, and the night ended with 0.9 for a CHICAGO FIRE rerun.

ABC:  AGENTS OF SHIELD gained no momentum from last week’s 9PM airing, dropping 0.3 to tie its series low 1.8.  After 0.9/0.6 for a pair of reruns, CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP was down 0.1 to 0.9.

FOX:  GLEE lost 0.1 to 0.9, then after a 0.6 for a NEW GIRL rerun, a new THE MINDY PROJECT held at 1.0.

CW:  A bad night for THE ORIGINALS, which slipped 0.1 to a new low 0.6.  SUPERNATURAL, though, rose 0.2 to 0.9.

CBS:  An all-rerun night, highlighted by 1.4 for NCIS LA.

Tonight it’s NBC’s turn to air all reruns, and the only new show on CBS is SURVIVOR,  The night’s NASHVILLE episode is a clip show centering on the musical performances on the series.
