>Another night of all repeats on the broadcast networks last night.  Saturday night some original programming returns to the schedule with New Year’s Eve specials hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Carson Daly.

CBS stuck with repeating its regular schedule last night — after all, CBS is the only network whose shows repeat well.  CBS averaged a 2.0 rating with Adults 18-49 from 8-11 pm.  Last year on this night, CBS did the same thing and produced a 1.8 rating from the final Thursday of the calendar year:  Big Bang Theory (2.3), $#*! My Dad Says (1.8), CSI (1.6) and Mentalist (1.6).

FOX programmed the final Thursday of 2011 with two Bones repeats (1.0 at 8 pm and 1.1 at 9 pm).  Last year on this night, FOX received a 1.1 rating with the same schedule of two Bones repeats (1.2 at 8 pm and 1.1 at 9).

ABC reeled in a 0.9 rating last night: Happy New Year, Charlie Brown (1.1) and two Grey’s Anatomy repeats (0.7 at 9 pm and 1.0 at 10 pm).  Last year on this night ABC averaged the same 0.9 rating (a slight downtick from Charlie Brown was balanced by an upgrade this year at 10 pm): Happy New Year, Charlie Brown (1.2), Grey’s Anatomy (0.8) and Private Practice (0.7).

NBC fell below a 1 rating again last night by repeating its 8-10 pm comedy block and adding another Office repeat at 10:00 (0.8) and Up All Night at 10:30 (0.7).  Last year on this night NBC managed a 1.2 rating from 8-11 pm with the same six-comedy strategy (but the comedies were another year younger and relatively more potent): Community (0.8), 30 Rock (1.1), The Office (1.6), Outsourced (1.2), Outsourced (1.2) and The Office (1.2).
