The first Thursday Night Football game on CBS averaged a preliminary 5.5 adult 18-49 rating, and that will go up to around a 6.4 rating in the official nationals. In addition, the NFL Network portion of the simulcast will add viewers (perhaps a 1.0 or 1.3 adult 18-49 rating). Last year, the Jets-Patriots game on the comparable night scored a 3.8 adult 18-49 rating on the NFL Network, with some additional viewers in New York and Boston watching over-the-air on local broadcasts stations.
