SHOWBUZZDAILY THURSDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 11.13.2014

The night didn’t offer much good ratings news outside of Shondaland.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.

Demo Profile 2014 THU Nov 13

ABC:  GREY’S ANATOMY was steady at 2.4, and then SCANDAL rose 0.3 to 3.2, and HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER climbed 0.1 to 2.9, as those shows approach their midseason finales.

CBS:  Network affiliates in both Buffalo and Miami were preempted for NFL Network’s THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL simulcast, which means that the seemingly promising numbers this morning will likely come down this afternoon.  At the moment, THE BIG BANG THEORY is up 0.2 to 4.5, MOM gained half a point to 2.8, 2 1/2 MEN rose 0.1 to 2.2, and THE MCCARTHYS is also up 0.1 to 1.6.  ELEMENTARY, however, stayed at its series low 1.2.

NBC:  THE BIGGEST LOSER and BAD JUDGE remained at last week’s 1.2 and 0.9.  A TO Z fell 0.2 to a barely-breathing 0.6, and PARENTHOOD hit a new series low, down 0.3 to 1.0.

FOX:  BONES slipped 0.1 to 1.2, but GRACEPOINT managed a 0.1 rise to 0.8.

CW:  THE VAMPIRE DIARIES lost 0.1 to 0.7, and REIGN was steady at 0.4.

THE HOLLYWOOD FILM AWARDS have been little more than a joke since they came into being, with an award or two (voted on by a small panel whose identities are kept secret) going to any studio that bought a table to the banquet and provided its celebrity stars for a visit to the podium.  Live awards shows, though, are among the few kinds of programming that still work on network TV, so CBS has decided to turn over its entire primetime schedule to the first televised version of the show.  ABC, NBC and CW air fresh episodes of their regular series, and FOX is in reruns for the night.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
