Fast Demo 2017 Jan 26.THU

CW:  Most of the network’s midseason marketing muscle was behind the premiere of RIVERDALE, and to little avail, with a blah 0.5 opening that couldn’t even match the 0.6 lead-in it had from the return of SUPERNATURAL.

ABC:  GREY’S ANATOMY continues to perform spectacularly for such a venerable serialized show.  It returned from its winter hiatus up half a point to 2.6.  SCANDAL had a 2.1 delayed season premiere, which was above last season’s 1.8 finale, although well down from the 3.3 Fall 2015 premiere.  HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER returned up 0.1 from its winter finale to 1.5, although its lead-in from NOTORIOUS that night was a mere 0.9.

CBS:  The night’s BIG BANG THEORY rerun topped the line-up at 1.6, followed by 1.2 for a MOM rerun.  Notwithstanding our chart above, the 9PM hour was a LOVE IS ALL AROUND special saluting Mary Tyler Moore, which scored 0.7.  PURE GENIUS finished its season and almost certainly its run down 0.1 to 0.7.

FOX:  HELL’S KITCHEN dropped 0.1 to 1.2, and MY KITCHEN RULES was steady at 0.8.

NBC:  Reruns, all at 0.7 except THE BLACKLIST at 0.5.

All the networks are new tonight except CBS, which has a line-up of reruns.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
