SHOWBUZZDAILY THURSDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 1.11.2018

 

The novelty of a returned WILL & GRACE seems to have faded.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

NBC:  SUPERSTORE (1.1), THE GOOD PLACE (1.0) and GREAT NEWS (0.6) were all steady, but WILL & GRACE fell 0.3 to 1.1.  The night ended with CHICAGO FIRE down 0.2 to 0.9.

FOX:  THE FOUR dropped 0.2 to 1.0.

CBS:  All the sitcoms were down 0.1 from last week:  THE BIG BANG THEORY to 3.0, YOUNG SHELDON to 2.5, MOM to 1.6, and LIFE IN PIECES to 1.2.  SWAT was steady at 1.1.

ABC:  This week’s 2-hour TRUTH & LIES documentary about Tonya Harding scored 0.3 better than last week’s about Waco at 1.4.  The night began with a rerun of CHILD SUPPORT at 0.7.

CW:  The CRITICS CHOICE AWARDS were at 0.3.

A retooled version of TAKEN, with a largely new cast and new showrunner, arrives on NBC tonight.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.

    I had to check for a moment to see if that W&G episode was new because that’s awful for a show that started at 3.0 and is now at a 1.1 by Episode 9. People are abandoning this revival.

    That’s a series low for Chicago Fire I believe.

      Will and Grace could have also been affected by the Truth and Lies Tonya Harding special as it was off by three tenths from last week. Personally I think it’s as good as ever.

        Could be. But I think people just lost interest. It had the initial boost from nostalgia, now people just don’t find it must watch. It’ll be canceled next season.

      Yeah, revivals just aren’t meant to be long term.
