>Last night, NBC won the night with an estimated 6.5 Adult 18-49 rating (this is an adjustment from the fast national number to what we think the official national number will be tomorrow morning).  The game itself starting at 8:30 between Philadelphia and the NY Giants posted a 6.6 in the fast nationals, which we are estimating will go up to a 7.5 in the officials.  This would be a 10% decline from the same night last year on NBC.

ABC averaged a 3.6 in the fast nationals from 7-11 pm, similar to last year’s night which also featured the American Music Awards.

FOX’s animated comedies did not have a football lead-in from a national late afternoon game, and each original comedy set or tied a season low.  Most notably, The Simpsons fell below a 3 rating for the first time this season, and the truly awful Allen Gregory fell below a 2 rating,

CBS had the NFL late afternoon game, which provided a preliminary 5.6 rating in the 7:00 pm half hour.  60 Minutes did an okay 2.9 rating at 7:30 (a more impressive number would be a 3.5+ given the lead in).  Amazing Race and The Good Wife are just about at expectations, while CSI Miami set a set season low.

ABC aired the American Music Awards from 8-11 pm last night, with the 4.3 preliminary fast national rating matching last year’s mark.  An upward adjustment is possible, so the official rating for the telecast could be up year to year.  ABC stumbled a bit from 7-8 pm, with a Countdown to the awards show (1.3 last night) significantly under-performing America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.8) last year.
