THE SKED’S SUNDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 7/28/13

What a difference a year makes:  on the same Sunday night last year, NBC averaged an 11.6 rating with adults 18-49 in prime time for the second night of competition at the London Summer Olympic Games, and the four broadcast networks added up to a 14.4 rating.  Last night, the networks combined for a 4.0 rating, with CBS and FOX tied for first place with 1.3s, while NBC averaged 0.7 (in fourth place behind ABC’s 0.8).

CBS:  UNFORGETTABLE returned to the airwaves with a 1.3, about half a point behind its in-season numbers last year, and not even able to keep up with the animation reruns on FOX.  Still, in the universe of network scripted summer programming (Under the Dome aside), that’s an OK rating.  BIG BROTHER was down 0.3 from last week to 2.2, still the highest-rated show of the night.  A MENTALIST rerun at 10PM won the hour, even against new content on NBC.

ABC:  The season finale of CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP edged up 0.1 to 1.1, and WHODUNNIT was likewise slightly up to 1.1.

NBC:  CROSSING LINES remained mired at an ugly 0.5, behind the AMERICA’S GOT TALENT and SVU reruns that preceded it (both at 0.7) and the 10PM retreads on the other networks.

FOX:  As usual, the animated reruns held up well, sparked by a 1.6 for FAMILY GUY–the 2d highest show of the night on any network, despite the new content on the competition.

A typical Monday summer line-up tonight, with only FOX offering an all-rerun evening.
