THE SKED’S SUNDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 6/23/13

It’s not that no one was watching television last night:  Discovery’s SKYWIRE LIVE WITH NIK WALLENDA delivered 13M viewers during his actual Grand Canyon walk.  What viewers weren’t watching was broadcast TV, as the networks combined for a 3.6 adult 18-49 rating, 6% below last year’s results for the parallel night

NBC:  The international co-production CROSSING LINES debuted with just 0.7 over its 2 hours, in 3rd place during the 9PM hour (although the competition was so weak at 10PM that it did manage to win that hour).  It was even outrated by the rerun AMERICA’S GOT TALENT that preceded it with a 0.8.

ABC:  The summer premiere of CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP managed a 1.3, which isn’t much (it tied the series low), but at least it won the hour.  WHODUNNIT premiered with the same 1.3, in 2d place for the hour.  The night was bookended by reruns at 1.0 and 0.7.

FOX:  The value of the network’s animated content was proved again as even in reruns, the 9PM hour belonged to FOX with a 1.5, while the 8PM reruns were just behind ABC with 1.2.

CBS:  After a 1.0 for 60 MINUTES, the night’s reruns didn’t do better than 0.6.

Tonight features one of the rare truly interesting ratings face-offs of the network summer, as CBS’s UNDER THE DOME, the highest-profile original drama we’ll be seeing on any network before September, premieres against Game 6 of the STANLEY CUP FINALS on NBC.  ABC is also all-new, while FOX will burn off another episode of THE GOODWIN GAMES.
