Sunday ratings last night, last year and last week.  In the table below, live sports programming (the entire evening on NC and the 7 pm hours on CBS and FOX) has been adjusted to our estimates of the eventual official national ratings, available Tuesday morning after West Coast viewing has been properly counted.   The Sunday night football game on NBC (New York Giants at Dallas) scored a 9.1 adult 18-49 rating in the fast nationals, which should go up to around a 10.7 rating (just below last year’s first Sunday night game rating).  The 7:30 and 8:00 half hours on NBC have been adjusted downward from the fast nationals, as those half hours are inflated by late-game viewing on the west coast.

FOX’s late afternoon NFL game (Green Bay at San Francisco) ran past 7 pm.  The 7.9 and 7.5 fast national ratings have been adjusted up to 9.3 and 8.9 ratings in the 7:00 and 7:30 half hours.

CBS coverage of the women’s singles final at the US Open tennis championship also spilled into prime time.  The fast nationals averaged a 1.6 rating at 7:00 pm, and we are giving it a modest adjustment up to a 1.8 rating.  The rest of the CBS schedule started about 52 minutes late.

All in all, the broadcast networks were a touch below last year’s comparable Sunday (down 2% from a 16.0 combined rating to a 15.7 rating last night).
