UPDATED: SHOWBUZZDAILY SUNDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 2.7.2016

Last night’s SUPER BOWL wasn’t quite as gigantic as last year’s.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.

CBS:  The preliminary 18-49 rating for Denver’s upset of Carolina in SUPER BOWL 50 was 34.7, just a breath below last year’s preliminary 35.0, which adjusted up to 39.1 in finals.  The post-game LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT began at 10:54PM ET, which is unusually late for a post-Super Bowl start (in the last 2 years, THE BLACKLIST began at 10:38 and NEW GIRL at 10:23), and we don’t currently have 18-49 numbers for it.  its preliminary rating was 8.4.  That’s the same as the adjusted number for BLACKLIST last year, but that show’s preliminary figure was 11.2, suggesting that LATE SHOW will end up somewhere in the 5s, certainly a big number compared to its usual late-night ratings, but not particularly Super.

EVERYONE ELSE:  The closest thing to a rating on any other network last night was the 0.6 for a run of the movie PITCH PERFECT on NBC.

All the networks are new tonight, with CASTLE taking back what had been the BACHELOR AFTERSHOW hour at 10PM.  On cable, the major arrival is FULL FRONTAL WITH SAMANTHA BEE, TBS’s new late-night comedy talk show starring the former DAILY SHOW regular.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
