The Sked: Sunday Network Scorecard 1.6.2019

We won’t really know where the GOLDEN GLOBES stand until final numbers come in.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary live+same day key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.

NBC:  The current 4.5 for the GOLDEN GLOBES is up 0.3 from last year’s preliminary number.  However, that had a slim 1.3 lead-in from a red carpet special, while this year’s show had an NFL WILD CARD game at a preliminary 11.2.  All of this live programming will have to be adjusted for time zone until we know if the GLOBES beat last year’s final 5.0.

CBS:  60 MINUTES was at 0.8, predictably down from last week’s NFL-boosted 1.5.  GOD FRIENDED ME aired for the first time since December 16, down 0.2 to 0.9, and NCIS: LA was steady with that night’s 0.9.  MADAM SECRETARY last had an out-of-timeslot airing on December 23, and was down 0.2 to 0.6 (which was its usual 10PM level last year).

FOX:  The line-up returned for the first time since December 9.  After an 0.3/0.4 hour of reruns, THE SIMPSONS (0.9), BOB’S BURGERS (0.9) FAMILY GUY (1.0) and REL (0.5) were all way down from that night, which started with an NFL lead-in.

ABC:  AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS had a rerun at 0.6 and a new episode at 0.9, the latter up 0.1 from its last original on December 2.  SHARK TANK similarly ran an 0.9 original and 0.6 rerun, the former up 0.2 from December 2.

CW:  Reruns at 0.1/0.1.

ESPN airs the CFP CHAMPIONSHIP game tonight, counterprogrammed by the debuts of THE BACHELOR on ABC and AMERICA’S GOT TALENT on NBC.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 live+same day ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.

CABLE RATINGS: Come back this afternoon for detailed demographic ratings for top Friday cable programs. Saturday & Sunday cable ratings will be posted Tuesday morning.
