THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 2/5/14

The last pre-Olympics night for a while.

Daily Comparison 2014 Wed Feb 05 three way

FOX:  AMERICAN IDOL reached Hollywood and leveled out, up 0.1 from last week to 3.9.

ABC:  THE MIDDLE dropped 0.1 to 2.2, and SUBURGATORY was down 0.1 to 1.7 from its last airing after a new Middle, although up 0.2 from last week when it followed a rerun.  MODERN FAMILY lost 0.1 to 3.5, and SUPER FUN NIGHT was down 0.1 from its last post-new Modern Family airing to 1.6, but up 0.3 from last week’s post-rerun.  NASHVILLE lost 0.2 to 1.3.

CBS:  A very solid night for the network’s procedurals, as CRIMINAL MINDS was up 0.6 from its last new episode to 2.8, and CSI was up 0.4 to 2.0.

NBC:  After 1.1 for a HOW TO BE AN OLYMPIAN special, SVU was down 0.2 to 1.8, but CHICAGO PD held even at 1.7.

CW:  ARROW slipped 0.1 to 1.0, while THE TOMORROW PEOPLE took a bigger hit, down 0.2 to 0.5.

Tonight brings beginnings and endings.  NBC starts its coverage of THE WINTER OLYMPICS, not with the usual Opening Ceremonies (which air tomorrow) but with some preliminary events–the network didn’t do that in 2010, so it’s hard to tell how those will fare.  Possibly for that reason, this is also just about the only time that all the other networks are airing original programming against the Olympics.  Then at 11:30PM, Jay Leno hosts his last (?) episode of THE TONIGHT SHOW, which will begin the Jimmy Fallon regime on February 17.
