THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 2/12/14

It was American Idol‘s turn to feel the Olympics pain.

Daily Comparison 2014 Wed Feb 12 three way

NBC:  See Mitch Metcalf’s SKEDBALL post for details on last night’s Sochi ratings.  After an uptick on Tuesday, Wednesday’s WINTER OLYMPICS coverage fell to 5.6, down a full point from the previous day, and also back to being below the last 3 winter games (the closest was the 6.0  for the same night in Turin).

FOX:  AMERICAN IDOL lost 0.5 from last week, down to 3.4 against the Olympics competition.

ABC:  An episode of SUPER FUN NIGHT was sacrificed to the Olympics gods and had a 1.3, down 0.3 from last week and tying its series low.  The rest of the schedule was made up of reruns, highlighted by 1.6 for MODERN FAMILY.

CBS:  After 0.9 for a MIKE & MOLLY rerun, the network re-aired Sunday’s THE BEATLES: THE NIGHT THAT CHANGED AMERICA special and stayed at 0.9.

CW:  A run of the theatrical film BEST IN SHOW was at 0.3.

FOX continues to put up new programming against the Olympics tonight, with fresh episodes of American Idol and RAKE–the latter is of some interest because it’s the original pilot that the network buried after producing regular episodes (not that those have done any better).  ABC has a new episode of THE TASTE, and the rest is reruns.
