>CBS Monday was back in originals from top to bottom, with fairly solid results from all shows.  The night averaged a very good 4.1 Adult 18-49 rating.  The only note of concern is Two and a Half Men, which was the second lowest original of the season (although a 5.0 rating is hardly a reason to set one’s hair on fire).  Last year on this night (December 6, 2010), CBS averaged a 3.3 rating: How I Met Your Mother (3.6), Rules of Engagement (3.1), Two and a Half Men (4.2), Mike & Molly (3.4) and Hawaii Five-O (2.8).

FOX was a very distant second place with a 2.0 rating for the American Country Awards from 8-10 pm.  The second-tier music special is up from a 1.5 rating on the same night last year.

FOX Mon    9.19 9.26 10.3 1010 1017 1024 1031 11.7 1114 1121 1128 12.4

ABC finished in third place (1.8 rating from 8-11 pm).  The evening started well at 8:00 with Charlie Brown Christmas (2.8), which is up from a 2.7 on Tuesday, December 7, 2010.  Another animated Christmas special, Prep & Landing 2: Naughty vs Nice, scored a 2.2 at 8:30.  After that, the wheels came off at 9 pm with the third episode of the game show You Deserve It pulling a lowly 1.0 rating.  A Castle original at 10 tried to recover with a 2.0 rating — the lowest original episode rating of the season but understandable given the lead-in.  Last year on this night, ABC struggled with Skating with the Stars (0.8 from 8:00-9:30), Modern Family repeat (1.1) and Castle original (1.9).

ABC Mon    9.19 9.26 10.3 1010 1017 1024 1031 11.7 1114 1121 1128 12.4

You thought The Sing-Off was over?  Although the winner was crowned last week, an all-new Christmas episode filled the 8-10 pm time period on NBC last night, drawing a very soft 1.1 rating.  At 10 pm, Rock Center tied its lowest number of its short run (0.9 rating).  NBC averaged a 1.0 for the night.  Last year on this night NBC averaged a 2.4 rating: The Sing-Off (originally designed as a short holiday series when competition is less fierce) premiered with a 2.8 rating from 8-10 and Chase rounded up a 1.5 rating.
