UPDATED: THE SKED CABLE/NETWORK MONDAY SCORECARD – 6/30/14

NETWORK UPDATE:  UNDER THE DOME slipped another 0.1 in final numbers, tying its series low.  The resulting 2.1 rating still makes it a sizable hit, but this was hardly the way CBS was hoping to start the new season.  24 and the HARRY POTTER informercial also lost 0.1 each, as did one of the WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY reruns.  THE BACHELORETTE, however, gained 0.1.

MONDAY CABLE:  LOVE & HIP-HOP (VH1) was in command at 1.9, down 0.1 from last week (plus 0.8 at 10PM).  Its companion show HIT THE FLOOR grew by 0.2 to 1.1.  As detailed in today’s WORLD CUP SKEDBALL post, ESPN’s Germany vs. Algeria afternoon game was at 1.7 (the morning France vs Nigeria match was at 1.0).  TEEN WOLF (MTV) dropped 0.2 from last week’s season premiere to 0.7.  On TNT, MAJOR CRIMES and MURDER IN THE FIRST remained at 0.8/0.4.  On ABCFamily, SWITCHED AT BIRTH and THE FOSTERS were at 0.5/0.6, which was down 0.2 for SWITCHED but steady for FOSTERS.  (The disparity between the shows was stronger in ABCFamily’s target demos:  while SWITCHED was at 0.8 in Women both 12-34 and 12-17, FOSTERS was at 1.3/1.8 in those demos.)  LONGMIRE (A&E) lost 0.1 to 0.5.  WWE (USA) was at 1.4-1.6 over its 3 hours, up 0.1 from last week.  SWAMP PEOPLE (History) rose 0.2 to 0.9, and STREET OUTLAWS (Discovery) climbed 0.1 to 0.8.  REAL HOUSEWIVES OF OC (Bravo) held at 0.8.

It was less crowded last night Under the Dome.

CBS:  The UNDER THE DOME season premiere, at 2.2, was well below last year’s 3.3 premiere, and also considerably under the 2.8 season finale.  However, it was still the highest-rated show of the night and a substantial success compared to the summer’s other scripted programming.  The network preceded it with reruns, led by 1.7 for a run of THE BIG BANG THEORY.

ABC:  THE BACHELORETTE held even at 1.5, and despite the much stronger competition from CBS at 10PM, MISTRESSES rose 0.1 to 1.1.

FOX:  Both MASTERCHEF and 24 were up, respectively by 0.2 to 1.9 (a new season high) and 0.1 to 1.5.

NBC:  After 0.8 for a HARRY POTTER: THE MAKING OF DIAGON ALLEY informercial special, a rerun AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR was at 1.4.

CW:  BEAUTY AND THE BEAST stayed at 0.3, well below the 0.5/0.6 for the rerun WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY episodes that preceded it.

ABC and NBC air their fresh summer slates tonight.
