ABC:  The Houston vs. Oklahoma City NBA game, one of the league’s holiday quintet, took the night with a preliminary 1.8.  (Last year, Christmas fell on a Sunday, so the primetime network game aired on cable rather than facing off with Sunday Night Football.)

NBC:  The original animated 1966 HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS gave basketball a run for its money at 1.6, and then the live-action remake was at 1.3.

CBS:  Reruns at 0.5-0.9.

FOX:  Reruns at 0.4/0.3.

CW:  Reruns at 0.3/0.2.

CBS airs the President-less KENNEDY CENTER HONORS tonight, and on cable, TNT unloads another 2 hours of MAJOR CRIMES en route to its series finale early next month.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.

This feature will return in January.

CABLE RATINGS: Come back Wednesday afternoon for detailed demographic ratings for top cable programs from this day, delayed by Christmas.
