CHICAGO FIRE:  WEDNESDAY 10PM on NBC

WHAT IT’S SAYING:  Backdraft, not Rescue Me.  Big fires, sweeping, heroic music, a stalwart band of brothers (and the occasional sister) uniting despite their personal strife to save the people of Chicago.

WHAT IT’S REALLY SAYING:  Even though it’s from Dick Wolf, not a pure Law & Order procedural.  Unless the trailer is misleading, much more serialized than the Wolf brand usually allows, with romantic stories for the firefighters and paramedics.  Still, expect heroics of the week and plenty of straight-down-the-middle dialogue (“I don’t have to explain myself to you, I sleep like a baby.”  “Don’t think, just do it!”)  Wait, is this CBS?

GRADE:  B-
