The NBA Playoffs continue to gain momentum: three games on TNT scored over a 3 rating with Adults 18-49, with Monday’s 9:43 pm contest hitting a 3.7 rating and over 8 million viewers 2+.  The bad news for NBA broadcast partners TNT, ESPN and ABC is that the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs in that game.  The highest-rated games in the playoffs so far have involved the Lakers, who are kind of like the NBA’s version of the Yankees (smug, self-centered, entitled players playing in a huge market, with fans nationwide but also a large national “anti-fan base” that loves to see them lose).  The Western Conference Finals will take a bit of a ratings hit with Oklahoma City tipping off against San Antonio.

Game of Thrones on HBO moved back to a solid 2.0, while History’s Pawn Stars returned with a good 1.8 rating after taking May off (to save original episodes to go against repeats on the broadcast networks).  Keeping Up with the Kardashians on E! also returned to the schedule (with a 1.5 rating, a decent number but it usually grows toward a 2.0 or higher as the summer wears on), while The Client List on Lifetime has been re-gaining some audience and moved back onto our weekly chart (rebounding to its 1.1 rating premiere level from a 0.8 last week).
