The first Sunday night of Olympic coverage averaged a 6.9 adult 18-49 rating on NBC from 7:00-11:00 pm.  This is well below the 7.5 rating on the same night in Turin and even slightly below the relatively weak night in Vancouver (7.0).  Last night’s coverage featured:  Team Ladies’ Free Skate & Ice Dance, Men’s Downhill, Women’s Slopestyle, and Men’s Ski Jump.

Through Sunday, Sochi is averaging a 7.0 adult 18-49, now equal to Turin and below the comparable 7.8 average rating for Vancouver.  Note: the Saturday 2.8.2014 rating for Sochi has been adjusted down to reflect the full 8:00-11:00 pm duration of the NBC telecast.  The lower-rated 8:00 half hour in fact did carry national commercials and is now reflected in our averages.
