NBC’s Winter Olympic coverage from Sochi last night averaged a 5.6 adult 18-49 rating from 8:00-11:00 pm, actually above an unusually weak comparable night in Vancouver (5.4 rating) but well below Turin’s 6.8 rating on the same night.

Last night’s coverage included: Ice Dancing Final, Men’s Aerials Final and Bobsled 2-Man Final.  A rather limited menu as Snowboard Cross was postponed by fog (probably to Tuesday night).  The big driver last night of course was the Gold medal for Meryl Davis and Charlie White in Ice Dancing, the first gold ever for the US in that sport event and only the 5th American gold medal in 2014 (in the 11th day of competition).

Through Monday night, Sochi is holding on to a 6.0 adult 18-49 rating average for Olympics primetime to date, but Sochi is now three tenths of a rating point behind Turin (6.3) and nine tenths behind Vancouver (6.9).
