Here are the full week sports ratings for Monday July 1 through Sunday July 7, 2019.  Eligible programs include sporting events on broadcast and cable networks (minimum audience size 300K P2+ live+same day).  Programs are grouped by sport and ranked within each sport by P2+ audience size.

For comparison, here is the similar chart for the same weekend last year, July 7-8, 2018:

    Since year 2000, a 2.12 is the worst rating ever for Daytona. Even the rain-out of Jul 2014 rated higher. Tee hee!

    Spanish language statistics:

    * The Fifa Women’s World Cup final averaged 1.6 million viewers on Telemundo.
    * The Concacaf Gold Cup final averaged 5.9 million viewers on Univisión.
    * The Copa América final 3.1 million viewers on Telemundo.

      Where’d you get these numbers? I rarely see Telemundo and Univisión in the ratings. They’re sometimes in the ratings but hardly over 1 million viewers. Also, what do you mean by “average?” If 1.6 million watch on Telemundo, it’s 1.6 million. What are you averaging…the “6-minute rule?”

      According to 30 days of Top-150 Original Cable Telecasts (7 Jun to 7 Jul 19), Spanish channels had the following fútbol statistics.

      * Univision Deportes: (25) Gold Cup matches averaged 342,400 viewers, (3) Colossus Cup matches averaged 149,667 viewers and (2) UEFA matches averaged 238,000 viewers.

      * Universo: (2) American Cup matches averaged 476,000 viewers and (5) FIFA Women matches averaged 113,000 viewers.

      * Galavision: (1) Colossus Cup match had 88,000 viewers.

      * Telemundo: (0) shows in the Top-150.

      Ah, “statistics” from the network. ‘Nuff said.

      Ratings from Nielsen are for advertisers; ratings from networks are for shareholders. Its 2 different purposes. According to Telemundo, if I were surfing through their channel at the same moment they took a measurement, they’d count (average) me as a viewer…although I don’t speak Spanish, have zero interest in soccer and only spent 1 minute on their channel. Gotcha!

      Didn’t you find it odd Univision boasting 5.7 million for CONCACAF and it didn’t even qualify for the Sunday Top-150 or even the weekly Skedball? The lowest-viewed program on Sunday was 120,000 and it still beat Univision’s telecast.

      According to my math, if Nielsen used the same aggregate numbers, cumulative views, 1-minute qualifiers and “impressions” as Univision to rank ALL programs, Fox Sports 1 would have had 133.9 million viewers and that lowly 120K program would have 5.58 million…and it’d still beat anything on Univision or Telemundo. Goodness!
