SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Wednesday Cable Originals (& Network Update): 10.22.2014

 

NETWORK UPDATE:  WORLD SERIES GAME 2, just like Game 1, adjusted up by half a point to 3.4 in final numbers.  That is at least closer to last year’s Game 2 final number, which was 3.6.  Elsewhere, CRIMINAL MINDS gained 0.1, as did THE MIDDLE, THE GOLDBERGS and MODERN FAMILY, but BLACK-ISH lost 0.1. 

Ratings in key demos for the Top 25 original cable telecasts (plus a few other lower-rated but noteworthy programs):

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW (FX) slipped just 0.05 from last week, far above everything else on Wednesday cable at 2.21.  KEY & PEELE (Comedy), without a new SOUTH PARK lead-in this week, was next, down 0.06 to 0.69.  On ABC Family, the combo of MELISSA & JOEY and BABY DADDY returned at 0.57/0.42.  Syfy’s GHOST HUNTERS was up 0.8 to 0.55, but MTV’s TEEN MOM REUNION tumbled 0.24 to 0.51, followed by 2 episodes of GIRL CODE at 0.26/0.25, down about a tenth from last week.  The Bravo duo of MILLION DOLLAR LISTING and TOP CHEF were at 0.46/0.38, respectively down 0.11/0.06.  The season finale of FRANKLIN & BASH (TNT) had a healthy bump, up 0.15 to 0.40.  FOR BETTER OR WORSE (OWN) fell 0.03 to 0.35.  THE LEAGUE (FXX) lost 0.05 to 0.25.  NBA PRE-SEASON BASKETBALL on ESPN scored 0.43 (an earlier game at 0.28), while NHL HOCKEY on NBC Sports Net was at 0.33.
