SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Thursday Cable Originals: 9.4.2014

 

NETWORK UPDATE:  NFL FOOTBALL on NBC adjusted to a lower-than-expected 10.2, a hair under last year’s opening game.  Not that it matters much except in terms of percentages, but THE QUEST improved by 0.2 in final numbers to a still-terrible 0.5.

Below are the ratings in key demos for Thursday’s Top 25 cable telecasts, as well as a few lower-rated series of note.  If there are any other shows you’d like included in the latter list, please let us know.  Some context and analysis follow the chart.

Top 25 Cable THU Sep 4 2014

BLACK JESUS (Adult Swim) gained 0.02 from last week and topped the night at 0.67.  PROJECT RUNWAY (Lifetime) took a 0.17 tumble, but held 2d place with 0.60.  BRAXTON FAMILY VALUES (We) gained 0.06 to 0.58.  RIDICULOUSNESS (MTV) was up 0.08 to 0.53.  On USA, SATISFACTION dropped 0.07 to 0.33, and RUSH lost half a tenth to 0.28.  On FX, YOU’RE THE WORST was up a tick to 0.29, and MARRIED was down the same to 0.29.  GARFUNKEL & OATES (IFC) got even tinier, losing 0.01 to 0.04.  On VH1, DATING NAKED was up 0.02 to 0.26, CANDIDLY NICOLE almost doubled last week’s score, up 0.09 to 0.21, and LEEANN & EDDIE was up 0.02 to 0.13.  Note:  we don’t have numbers this week for THE HONORARY WOMAN on Sundance.
