SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Thursday Cable Originals (& Network Update): 1.1.2015

 

NETWORK UPDATE:  There were no changes from the preliminary ratings for New Year’s night.

Ratings in key demos for the Top 25 original cable telecasts (plus a few other lower-rated but noteworthy programs):

ESPN got everything it could have wanted from the COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS, which were gigantic at 8.94/8.33, and had the highest total audiences in cable history with 28M+ for each game.  The COTTON BOWL added another 2.57 and the network had the next 2 slots as well with GAMEDAY segments.  The top non-football of the day was Lifetime’s LITTLE WOMEN LA at 0.65 (followed by BIG WOMEN BIG LOVE at 0.44).  A pair of RIDICULOUSNESS episodes on MTV were at 0.48/0.46, and they were preceded by ROB DRYDECK FANTASY FACTORY  at 0.42.  THE CARBONARO EFFECT (Tru) lost a tenth to 0.30.  Bravo’s MILLIONAIRE MATCHMAKER was at 0.31.
