SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Saturday Cable Originals: 10.4.2014

Ratings in key demos for the Top 25 original cable telecasts Saturday (plus a few other lower-rated but noteworthy programs):

As usual on fall Saturdays, cable was dominated by ESPN’s COLLEGE FOOTBALL coverage, which took up 5 of the Top 10 slots, ranting from 0.41-1.59.  Its reign was interrupted in the #5 slot by MLB Network’s BASEBALL PLAYOFFS at 0.58.  HELL ON WHEELS (AMC) was the top-rated scripted show, down 0.02 to 0.39.  Starz premiered SURVIVOR’S REMORSE at 9PM with an unimpressive 0.07, with 203K total viewers; a 9:30PM rerun only added 0.02/88K.  That was a much lower lead-in for THE CHAIR than OUTLANDER had provided, and the result was that the unscripted series fell to a new low 0.01.  DOCTOR WHO (BBCAmerica) lost 0.05 to 0.33, and INTRUDERS gained 0.02 to 0.09.  CEDAR COVE (Hallmark) edged up 0.01 to 0.16.  In response to reader requests:  UFC on Fox Sports 1, with a 12:07AM start time, was at 0.35/799K, and FX’s UFC coverage was at 0.16/413K.
