SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Friday Cable Originals: 9.19.2014

FRIDAY NETWORK UPDATE:  20/20 gained 0.1 in final numbers, but UTOPIA remained at its dismal 0.5.

Ratings for Friday’s Top 25 original cable telecasts in key demos (plus a few other lower-rated but noteworthy programs):

As it usually does, WWE on Syfy took Friday night, down 0.04 from last week to 0.77, and perhaps not surprisingly, it’s proving to be a fine lead-in for Z NATION, which dropped just 0.05 from last week’s premiere to 0.50 and actually climbed a bit in total viewers to 1.62M.  GIRL MEETS WORLD (Disney) had an impressive burst to 2d place for the night, up more than two-tenths from last week to 0.72, with lead-in JESSIE at 0.41.  BERING SEA GOLD (Discovery) gained 0.07 for 0.54, and ESPN’s COLLEGE FOOTBALL coverage was at 0.51, just about even with last week’s game.  THE KNICK (Cinemax) had good news of a sort, as it virtually doubled its 18-49 number–but still only to 0.11–and increased by about 10% in total viewers to 358K.  The lack of last week’s special live-show hype didn’t hurt REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER (HBO) as it actually rose slightly (by 0.02) to 0.27.
