SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Friday Cable Originals (& Network Update): 11.28.2014

NETWORK UPDATE:  There was a 0.2 boost for the AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS rerun in final numbers, and an 0.1 increase for the rerun of YES, VIRGINIA.

Ratings in key demos for the Top 25 original cable telecasts (plus a few other lower-rated but noteworthy programs):

Discovery’s GOLD RUSH was by far the highest rated show on cable on Friday, even though it slipped 0.4 from last week to 1.21.  Lead-in GOLD RUSH: THE DIRT was at 0.48, and lead-out EDGE OF ALASKA climbed 0.14 to 0.68.  ESPN’s COLLEGE FOOTBALL game followed at 0.84.  On Syfy, HAVEN started the night down 0.01 to 0.17, WWE was down 0.07 to 0.81, and Z NATION lost 0.09 to 0.46.  Perhaps Disney Channel fans can explain why JESSIE almost doubled from last week’s 0.36 to 0.66, while GIRL MEETS WORLD was up a much more modest 0.02 to 0.54.  ON THE MENU (TNT) was up 0.02 to 0.17.  HBO’s FOO FIGHTERS: SONIC HIGHWAY was steady at 0.14.  On IFC, COMEDY BANG BANG lost 0.05 to 0.03 with 63K total viewers (it essentially duplicated that rating at 2AM), and BIRTHDAY BOYS dropped 0.02 to 0.02/39K for its initial airing, rising to 0.03/53K at 2:30AM.
