NETWORK FINALS:  MASTERCHEF gained 0.1 in final numbers, and the rerun of ARROW lost the same (putting the latter down to 0.1, a dismal number even for a summer rerun).

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  Discovery’s ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE was at the top of Wednesday cable, up a tenth from last week to 0.58, and HOMESTEAD RESCUE was down 0.05 to 0.29. OWN’s QUEEN SUGAR held well in its season timeslot premiere, down 0.14 from Tuesday to 0.54.  On Bravo, REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NYC slipped 0.02 to 0.52, and the season finale of THEN & NOW was up 0.03 to 0.22.  TBS’s FULL FRONTAL dropped 0.05 to 0.40.  On Lifetime, LITTLE WOMEN LA ticked down to 0.35, and MONIE GETS MARRIED was up 0.04 to 0.33.  Comedy Central’s THE DAILY SHOW, which featured an unusually serious and passionate turn by host Trevor Noah, rose from its #19 slot on Tuesday to #6 for the night, up 0.05 to 0.35.  The season finale of FX’s FARGO gained 0.05 to 0.34.  On ID, HEAR NO EVIL climbed 0.09 to 0.34, and REASONABLE DOUBT was up 0.03 to 0.33, with THE PERFECT MURDER starting the night at 0.29. HGTV’s BROTHER VS BROTHER fell a tenth to 0.33, HOUSE HUNTERS INTL dropped 0.05 to 0.32, and HOUSE HUNTERS was down 0.09 to 0.31.  In the night’s cable news battle, MSNBC’s RACHEL MADDOW SHOW and Fox News’s THE FIVE tied in the 18-49 demo at 0.33, with Fox ahead in total viewers, 3.3M vs 2.3M, while CNN’s ANDERSON COOPER 360 was far behind at 0.22/963K.  ESPN’s coverage of the COLLEGE WORLD SERIES was at 0.33. E!’s HOLLYWOOD MEDIUM gained 0.03 to 0.24.  2 episodes of Spike’s LIP SYNC BATTLE were at 0.22/0.19.  Syfy’s BLOOD DRIVE fell 0.06 to 0.18.  USA’s BIG STAR LITTLE STAR dropped 0.04 to 0.17. Food Network’s CUTTHROAT KITCHEN lost 0.02 to 0.17.  MTV’s 2 episodes of TRUE LIFE were at 0.13/0.10, compared to last week’s 0.16/0.13.  On TV Land, the season finale of LOPEZ held at 0.06, and the season finale of NOBODIES was off the chart, down 0.01 to 0.05/365K.  POP’s NIGHTCAP held at 0.01/103K.  Sundance’s GOMORRAH was steady at 0.02/74K.
