NETWORK FINALS:  The final rating for THE OSCARS was 2.12, down 60% from the 2020 rating and consistent with other recent awards shows.  (A note to those arguing that the content of the show drove viewers to turn it off in progress:  the highest quarter-hour of the telecast was at 2.31 and the lowest at 2.00, and that roughly 15% attrition was actually better than the 27% drop from highest to lowest segment for the 2020 awards, even though the overall numbers were much lower.)  In addition, 60 MINUTES adjusted to the next-highest tenth.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  AMC’s FEAR THE WALKING DEAD led scripted cable on Sunday, up 0.04 to 0.26, with GANGS OF LONDON (about to be moved out of primetime) steady at 0.04.  On Adult Swim, an episode of AMERICAN DAD was at 0.24, and BIRDGIRL ticked down to 0.16.  Nielsen fixed its problem on Hallmark’s WHEN CALLS THE HEART, which gained 0.02 to 0.23.  On HBO, MARE OF EASTTOWN edged up 0.02 to 0.10, but THE NEVERS crumbled by 0.06 to 0.06.  On Showtime, VICE held at 0.01/70K, CITY ON A HILL dropped 0.02 to 0.03/308K, and COUPLES THERAPY was at 0.01/61K & 0.01/59K, compared to last week’s 0.01/zero.  On Starz, THE GLOAMING held at 9.01/90K, and CONFRONTING A SERIAL KILLER ticked up to 0.01/71K.

Sunday cable overall was topped by TLC’s 90 DAY FIANCE despite a 0.11 drop to 0.56, with the premiere of EXTREME SISTERS at 0.24.  ESPN’s MLB SUNDAY NIGHT was at 0.50, preceded by an NBA doubleheader at 0.46/0.33.  On Bravo, REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA dipped 0.02 to 0.41, and MARRIED TO MEDICINE was down 0.02 to 0.23.  HGTV’s HOME TOWN ticked down to 0.33.  On Discovery, NAKED & AFRAID was at 0.31 compared to last week’s 0.25/0.24, and 6 DEGREES OF MIKE ROWE was up 0.05 to 0.12.  On A&E, BIOGRAPHY: ROWDY RODDY PIPER was at 0.27, and WWE’S MOST WANTED was down 0.02 to 0.27.  On ID, ON THE CASE climbed 0.07 to 0.21, and EVIL LIVES HERE was up 0.04 to 0.18.  Food Network’s WORST COOKS IN AMERICA was at 0.17/0.14.  History’s SNACK SIZED was at 0.13/0.11 compared to last week’s 0.12/0.10.  Paramount’s BAR RESCUE ticked down to 0.09.
