NETWORK FINALS:  The rerun of THE GONG SHOW lost 0.1 in final numbers.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  ESPN’s coverage of the pre-All-Star Game HOME RUN DERBY towered over Monday cable at 2.63, up a remarkable 0.76 from 2016.  The CELEBRITY SOFTBALL game was no slouch either at 1.35.  TNT, though, had an awful night with the 2-hour premiere of WILL, which arrived (without prior availability online or via VOD) at 0.16/0.09.  The season premiere of Bravo’s REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ORANGE COUNTY was at 0.60, with SOUTHERN CHARM up a tick from 2 weeks ago to 0.50, and SWEET HOME OKLAHOMA returning at 0.26/0.20.  Food Network’s DESSERT GAMES premiered at 0.24, with TEXAS CAKE HOUSE at 0.21.  HBO’s THE DEFIANT ONES fell 0.08 from Sunday’s episode to 0.21.  

The baseball events pushed VH1’s LOVE & HIP-HOP off of Monday cable’s throne, although it was up 0.17 from last week’s holiday eve edition to 1.33, with BASKETBALL WIVES back from a week off up 0.14 to 1.07, and DAYTIME DIVAS up 0.14 from last week to 0.49.  USA’s WWE telecast was at 1.00/0.97/0.95, compared to last week’s 0.95/0.93/0.89.  MTV’s TEEN MOM REUNION fell 0.08 from last week’s to 0.56, and a regular episode followed at 0.36, with a 11PM TEEN MUM at 0.26.  On Discovery, STREET OUTLAWS slipped 0.02 from last week to 0.48, and VEGAS RAT RODS ticked up to 0.31. AMC’s PREACHER rose 0.03 to 0.40.  On HGTV, HOUSE HUNTERS gained 0.06 to 0.38, HOUSE HUNTERS INTL edged up 0.02 to 0.35, and TINY PARADISE was up 0.06 to 0.36.  Considering the Russian e-mail news, it wasn’t a surprise that MSNBC’s RACHEL MADDOW SHOW dominated cable news at 0.38/2.8M, with CNN’s ANDERSON COOPER 360 at 0.22/940K, and Fox News’s TUCKER CARLSON TONIGHT at 0.21/2.4M  On TLC, COUNTING ON gained 0.02 to 0.36, and KATE PLUS 8 was at 0.28.  ID’ s MURDER CALLS rose a tenth to 0.33.  On History, AMERICAN PICKERS was at 0.31, and PAWN STARS was at 0.30/0.27, compared to 0.28/0.27 2 weeks ago.  On Freeform, SHADOWHUNTERS fell 0.06 from 2 weeks ago to 0.19, and STITCHERS was down 0.03 to 0.11.
