The second annual ShowBuzzDaily Summer Movie Draft still looks like a runaway for Team Metcalf ($518.9 million total through Sunday versus about $25 million each for Teams Salem and Weil), but the early lead is really a function of Metcalf’s slate being heavily weighted toward May and June releases.  The lead will only get bigger over Memorial Day weekend:  Metcalf’s Men in Black 3 (#5 pick overall) opens Friday.  That’s a fairly high pick for a film that can easily underwhelm, however.

Salem and Weil are sitting out this weekend (the other opener, Chernobyl Diaries, was not on the draft list of 24 films), but Salem very quickly gets into the game in coming weeks with Snow White & the Huntsman (#9 pick overall) on June 1, That’s My Boy (#15) on June 15 and Brave (#3) on June 22.

Weekend Predictions for Memorial Day Weekend will be posted late Wednesday.
