INTERNATIONAL BOX OFFICE through August 12

The big gainer overseas this week was The Dark Knight Rises again, up $67 million to an overseas total of $445 million.  A billion dollars worldwide is still possible, but $950 million could be more realistic.

Ice Age 4 continues to pound away, up another $37 million overseas this week to $621 million to date.

Brave, Madagascar 3 and Total Recall each increased their overseas gross this week by more than $20 million.  Brave was up $29 million this week to $147 million overseas to date.  Madagascar 3 rose $24 million this week to $336 million foreign.  And Total Recall was up $22 million this week to $28 million so far after two weeks.

No overseas numbers yet for this weekend’s crop, although The Bourne Legacy is the only one with any real potential outside North America.
