Super 8 is starting to get a little traction overseas as it plays in more territories, now at #16 and probably headed for a spot just outside the top 10.

Not shown on the chart, Bad Teacher debuted at #23 with an estimated $118 million worldwide (estimated $100 million domestic total and $18 million overseas to date).  Also, Mr Popper’s Penguins sits at #39 with $70 million worldwide (estimated $65 million domestic total and only $5 million overseas to date).

Year to date, the 63 films released in 2011 have grossed almost $9.0 billion worldwide, with $4.4 billion coming from North America and $4.6 million from overseas.

The International numbers have been posted late Monday or early Tuesday in the past, but we are going to try to post them Sunday afternoon as often as possible because of the importance of the overseas markets.
